Many coworking spaces organize teambuilding events and activities. The aim? To make it easier for coworkers to get to know each other, or to help company employees strengthen their bonds. And it works! At workin.space, we recently took part in a mug-decorating workshop, which we really enjoyed. Our teams were able to compare their work and take it home with them.

Right away, here are the 9 most popular teambuilding activities in coworking spaces.

1. Painting and decorating mugs

Ceramic painting is a relaxing and unifying activity. Each team member is given brushes, paint and a white mug. They then draw on their imaginations to create whatever inspires them. It could be their neighbor on the right, a well-known work of art (e.g. the Mona Lisa) or the company logo (for the more corporate). At the end, everyone presents their mug to the rest of the team.

This activity reveals a lot about the team's personalities, but it's also (and above all) a lot of fun!

2. Yoga & meditation

Some coworking spaces bring in a yoga teacher to relax their members for an hour. Others combine a coworking space with a yoga studio. This is the case of AT AÛM studio in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, which goes even further with :

  • a yoga and sound therapy studio;
  • a coffee-shop ;
  • a veggie canteen;
  • a boutique (groceries, decorative objects and natural beauty products).

Diverse teambuilding activities are also on offer, including yoga, pilates, barre au sol and quantum hypnosis... A great way to clear your head as a team and discover something out of the ordinary.

3. Wellness massages by physiotherapists

Are your employees stressed by a fast-approaching event? Have you achieved your objectives for the last quarter? Any time is a good time to get a massage! And that's just as well, because some coworking centers (cuckoo Morning) regularly bring in physiotherapists to give wellness massages to coworking members. They come with their own massage oils and boards. All you have to do is lie back and enjoy.

4. "Take Your Dog to Work Today" day

According to Central Canine's 2022 barometer, 39% of French people would like dogs to be more accepted in the places they visit. And what if this started with their workplace? On "Take Your Dog to Work Today", all your employees can be accompanied by their four-legged companions.

And if all goes well, perhaps you could adopt this practice year-round, at least one day a week? WeWork is pet-friendly all over the world, enabling more spontaneous exchanges between teams or other companies.

5. Ping-pong tournament

In our selection of the most beautiful meeting rooms in Paris, we introduced you to a meeting room equipped with a ping-pong table in the 11th arrondissement. Well, this isn't the only establishment to have this equipment. Many coworking spaces have ping-pong tables.

So you can easily organize a table tennis tournament at your workplace. You can even include other coworkers from the coworking space by inviting them to join. A great opportunity to expand your network.

And reassure the less athletic members of your team: you don't need to be as good as Alexis Lebrun to take part.

6. Workshops & debates

To bring added value to your employees, it may be worthwhile to check with coworking if it's possible toorganize an anthology conference/debate.

For this, a theme will have to be chosen (e.g. entrepreneurship, ecology, hunting...). Special guests and/or subject specialists can be invited for the occasion to enrich the discussion. Finally, a moderator should be appointed to chair and moderate the debate.

This will spice up your employees' day, and help them to take a step back from a controversial subject.

7. Breakfasts & brunches

What could be more comforting than a croissant and a hot chocolate before starting the working day? One of the most popular teambuilding activities among employees is the organization of breakfasts and brunches .

The idea is to get together informally, first thing in the morning, to talk about anything and everything. It's a good idea to ask all team members to bring a snack (e.g. homemade pancakes, homemade jam, freshly squeezed juice) to encourage sharing and cohesion.

8. Coworking cooking workshop

In the same theme as breakfasts and brunches, there are cooking workshops. During these events, your employees are invited to cook a dish, a dessert, or both, before enjoying them together.

This is what La Cuisine de Camille offers: an innovative and supportive culinary third-place in Bordeaux. It offers culinary workshops and dinners cooked by private chefs. This coworking teambuilding activity is an excellent idea for forging links around a unifying theme: food.

9. Jewelry-making workshop

Let's end this list of coworking teambuilding activities by mentioning the "jewelry creation" workshop. This activity is offered by Julie Martre in her jewelry workshop at L'Argonaute, a coworking space in Auray (Morbihan), but also in other coworking spaces. On the program: the creation of rings, necklaces or pretty earrings. This workshop is sure to please all creative types in the office!
