It is at the same time a third place, a space of coworking, a space of animations, and a place of innovation in residence.

It is an accessible and attractive place in touch with social and economic life, with communication facilities. It is a window space: connected to other similar spaces.

It is also a showcase: to display the "technologies invented or assembled here". Finally, it is a stopover place: in a place of passage, a role of manufacturing, detection and stimulation of projects.

Most of the time, we say "La Cantine" in short, but sometimes we specify "La Cantine Numérique". This is to distinguish it from a classic canteen (where you eat), but especially because La Cantine Numérique makes extensive use of digital tools to achieve its objectives.

In Brest, however, we want to insist on the "not only digital", because we think that a La Cantine type of place should also be able to reach the above mentioned objectives without using too much digital tools. We will try to demonstrate how.
