Elephants Club? Yes. The name came about back in 2018 when we were working on a concept for a co-working space project at "The Beach". For various reasons, we didn't pursue the project back then and put it on ice.
The name came up again in mid-2019 in connection with the vacated Sparkasse branch in Düsseldorf Heerdt. Due to the coronavirus, we also saw the idea as a kind of shared office space - not a classic coworking space with dynamic workstations.
As in a shared apartment, we want to offer tenants their own self-contained offices with the added value of a shared space, such as a conference room, coffee kitchen and lounge.
In particular, the Elephants Club sees itself not only as a classic provider and landlord, but also tries to bring together mutually beneficial entrepreneurs and service providers.
The selection criteria for a space are therefore not just a good credit rating and a good appearance; it also has to be a good fit. In the best case, there is added value for all other tenants.
The chemistry has to be right. Competition is good and stimulates business, but not in the context of a harmonious office community. We'd rather accept a month's loss of rent than bring a tenant into the community who has a negative impact on other tenants in any way.
