Coworking has never been so vibrant. From Lisbon to Berlin, Paris to Amsterdam, shared workspaces are reshaping the European working landscape. Born as havens for freelancers and start-ups, they have now become living, innovating and meeting places for hybrid employees, entrepreneurs and creatives on the move. Behind the specialty coffee, glass roofs and hanging plants lies a veritable cultural revolution: that of a more flexible, communal and sustainable way of working. Here's a roundup of the 5 most emblematic coworking spaces in Europe, tested by the workin.space teams, that combine design, services and inspiration. And I'm announcing, we're going off the beaten track here to introduce you to some truly innovative spaces. Follow the guide!

1- Krux Amsterdam, a new kind of coworking studio

Welcome to Krux Amsterdam: a place that redefines coworking in Amsterdam with a creative, collaborative approach. Housed in a former industrial building on Amsterdam's eastern waterfront, Krux was created by four graduates of the Design Academy Eindhoven: Gero Amsuth, Dajo Bodisco, François Dumas and Erasmus Scherjon. Conceived as a "rue d'ateliers", the space brings together studios and workshops for designers, craftsmen, graphic artists, ceramists and many others from all disciplines.

With machine tools, workbenches and prototyping areas, Krux encourages exchange, creation and production. It also hosts exhibitions, conferences and workshops, making it more than just a place to work: a true hub of innovation and craftsmanship.

Why do we love it? Although at first glance the space is aimed more at creative people or craftsmen, it also appeals to companies who want to organize a workshop or event in an authentic and stimulating industrial setting.

In short, Krux Amsterdam is the antidote to the standard office: here, people make, collaborate and share. A great address to keep on your radar for a different style of working.

2- Cats & Chill, Belgium's first cat-coworking facility

A dream come true! If I were asked to describe my ideal coworking space, this would be it.

Located right in the center of Mons, the "Cats & Chill " space was designed by Françoise Van Eylen as a hybrid place that combines coworking, café relaxation... and purr therapy.
In a soothing, cosy decor, you'll find connected workstations, concentration zones and breakout areas that invite you to play and relax with the shelter's cats (Bianca is a particular favorite). Ideal for a moment of calm, well-being and creativity.

Why do we love it? Work differently, in a setting where serenity rhymes with productivity, and where we step out of the traditional office setting to experience a softer, more inspiring atmosphere.

In short: an original space for all those who want to work, think and exchange ideas... while enjoying a hairy, soothing companion on their lap.

3- Clockwise Edinburgh Leith, a different kind of Scotland

Located in the former Commercial Quay warehouse in Leith, just a few minutes from the center of Edinburgh, this coworking space blends industrial elegance with modern services. Wooden beams, large skylights and exposed brick all combine to preserve the soul of the historic site, while providing an inspiring working environment.

You'll find everything you need: 24/7 access, high-speed WiFi, two meeting rooms for up to 15 people, an on-site "Two Hands" café-brasserie for breaks, and several occupancy options (day pass, dedicated office, privatized office).

Why we love it? A location that combines calm and accessibility (Leith area, streetcar 18 min from the center). A designer workspace that's a far cry from the standard office. An active community and turnkey services to get you up and running quickly.

In short, Clockwise Edinburgh Leith is the smart choice for those looking to break away from the traditional office environment, while staying connected to city life.

4- LX Factory, Lisbon's centerpiece

Housed in a former industrial complex in Lisbon's Alcântara district, LX Factory brings to life a skilful blend of heritage, creativity and urban living. Once a textile site (founded in 1846), the site was renovated in 2008 to house design boutiques, art galleries, cafés, coworking spaces... and an atmosphere that mixes locals and curious visitors.

Street art is on display on the walls, the vintage and creative Sunday market attracts bargain hunters, and the terraces overlook the Tagus river and the April 25th bridge for an inspired break.

Why do we love it? For the authenticity of the place, the bricks, metal beams, workshops... mixed with the energy of a lively space where people work, create and exchange. Perfect for a creative break or a moment of coworking in a stimulating environment.

5- Bergère X Paris: heritage at the service of flexible spaces

It's inevitable for us to mention Paris in our Top 5 coworking spaces in Europe. I could have told you about the flexible workspace Koneko Work, an unusual and supportive coworking café where you can work and read among the cats in Paris (you'll notice that there's a consistency). But it's the Bergère space I want to talk to you about today.

In the 9ᵉ arrondissement of Paris, at 14 rue Bergère, a former Belle Époque bank building is being reinvented: Bergère X Paris. With 26,000 m² of floor space, this historic monument, once the HQ of the Comptoir national de réescompte (forerunner of BNP Paribas), is being transformed to accommodate, alongside a coworking facility, a restaurant-bar, a hotel, interior gardens and a panoramic space dubbed "Parisarium".

The project aims to open its doors in 2026, in a setting that combines architectural heritage, innovative uses and shared urban living. A perfect place for those looking for a flexible workspace but also a "vibrant" address, blending history, design and community.
